WoofCraft Apprenticeship Program

Have you always wanted to learn how to train service dogs? WoofCraft’s Apprenticeship Program provides a thorough introduction to different LIMA-based dog training methods geared towards shaping better working dogs. We combine observational learning, written materials, and practical, hands-on experience to teach the scientific principles behind canine psychology and behavior. Upon completion of at least 300 hands-on hours, students will be required to take their Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) exam paid for by WoofCraft. Students who complete the apprenticeship have the necessary skillset to train a variety of working dogs including service dogs, therapy dogs, detection dogs, and more.

Paid Time:
5-10 hours per week at $16.00 per hour to assist in daily business activities such as responding to inquiries, cleaning, dog care, dog enrichment, community outings with service dogs, etc.

Volunteer Hours:
300 hours will be divided based upon student and mentor availability over the course of 12 months

Employment:
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, WoofCraft will require a 1 year, non-compete position with the organization. This will offer competitive pay and continued growth within the company.
